WGW Educational Trust supports the New Horizons for Women Trust

As well as its own awards, the Waikato Graduate Women Educational Trust, Ngā Raukura Wāhine Mātauranga o Waikato, funds awards given by The New Horizons for Women Trust, Hine Kahukura, which supports education, innovation and research which benefits women.

The particular awards we sponsor support women into second-chance education. In 2018 we funded four such awards.

Second-chance Education (Foundation/Diploma Studies) Award 2018

Catherine Lang (Convenor of the WGWET Awards Committee, Mokoia Wainui (Award recipient), Noeline Alcorn (Chair of the WGWET).

Mokoia Wainui, who is studying a Diploma in Beauty, Body & Spa Therapies at Waikato Institute of Technology and is based in Hamilton.

Lisa Puketui Gate, is undertaking a Diploma in Architectural Technologies at Waikato Institute of Technology, Hamilton.

Anneliese Megaw, studying a Certificate in Health and Wellbeing at Western Institute of Technology and who is Taranaki based.
